NBHA North Central Championship Winners
Congratulations to Robert Ecker and Mike Branscum for handling the winners of the NBHA North Central Regional Championship. Robert handled John Everett's Honky Tonk Gigolo, PM in the 16th brace to the title in the 33 dog stake. Gigolo had five finds and a strong up front race to annex this title at the Percy Priest WMA near Nashville, TN. This win gives John's dog a big lead for the NBHA Open Shooting Dog of the Year points race as well.
Mike handled Milton Miller's pointer male, Lotsa Luke in the 10th brace to runner-up with four finds and a smooth race. It's great to see Mike back trialing again and getting this win for longtime supporter Milton Miller.
Several others thought they might have a shot at runner up but Gigolo outclassed the field according to those riding. Tri Tronics rep Jim Morehouse was on the grounds providing e-collars, hats and t-shirts and rode a couple days in support of the Futurity and the Championship. Steve Rainey of Black Gold dropped off dog food for the winners along with literature on their products. Thanks to Tony and Michelle King, Jason Kemna, Chris Gebhardt, Brud Powell, Jerry Kilgore, Championship Judges Arnold Hall and Ken Jordan and all who attended to make the week a success.
