NBHA Youth Handler of the Year Award Program

During the annual summer meeting in July the NBHA adopted the NBHA Youth Handler of the Year Award. A Youth Handler is recognized by the NBHA as any handler that is age 15 or younger at the start of the field trial season, June 1. Youth handlers can participate in any stake open or amateur and will be eligible for the overall Youth Handler of the Year award. Youth Handler points are not weighted in any event.

NBHA Youth Handler of the Year, is the accumulation of points earned in all stakes Open and Amateur. There are no weighted points, all events are three (3) points for first place, two (2) points for second place, one (1) point for third place, and 1 point if a stake has a fourth place. At the end of the field trial season the Youth handler with the highest point total will receive the Youth Handler of the Year Award. The Youth Handler with the second highest point total will receive the Runner-up Youth Handler of the Year award.

Youth handlers that place a dog in an NBHA trial, will need to make sure that trial chairs notes that they are a Youth handler so they can receive their points towards the NBHA Youth Handler of the Year award.

Good luck to all the Youth who participate in the NBHA trials and are eligible for the NBHA Youth Handler of the Year award.
