Sumter County Bird Hunters Association 2/8/20 trial

Pictured is NBHA Hall of Fame inductee John Everett and his winning dog Moehill's Carolina Ruby. The John Everett Field Trial was hosted by Sumter County Bird Hunter Association on February 8. It was a beautiful weekend in Pinewood, SC for the John Everett Field Trial. This trial is named after a gentleman that has been very instrumental to the success of walking field trials in the NBHA and the great state of South Carolina. John has served in leadership roles for the organization and been the head of several field trial clubs. He has hosted countless field trials and been a great leader and mentor to many of us. He is a fierce competitor that has raised and campaigned many championship caliber dogs.
We had a nice turn out for the trial and drew 59 dogs. The trial was ran on the grounds at Railway Kennels, which is owned by Nick Mellon. This was the 35th consecutive year this trial was held on these grounds. We are very grateful to Nick for allowing us to continue holding this trial on this historic site. This year Gene Casale Jr was a participant. It is always great to see Gene run dogs from the same bloodlines the he and his dad campaigned. The same men and dogs that made Railway Kennels world famous.
I would like to thank all the participants and judges for making this a great trial. Also, we would like to thank Purina for the sponsorship, Cliff Brown for planting the birds, and D & Ls Diner for providing the great food. We hope to see everyone again next year.
