NBHA National Open Championship Puppy results.
There were eight in the NBHA Open Puppy which ran simultaneously with the second half of the Open Derby, although on separate grounds. Judges were Ed Smith and Ken Black.
The puppies were turned loose in a cotton field adjacent to the clubhouse, made a loop up the hill and around to finish just beyond the opening hill. All three puppies ran similar races, the winner making one very wide and adventurous cast. The key here is she looked good moving and came back on her own. It was good have new handlers with the Ridings family entering three puppies, the Sassers two, while the rest of the field were single family entries. Six-year-old Penelope Sasser handled her own eight-month-old pup.
First place went to Emmet Sasser with the setter female Firebug, owned by Chuck Maxson. Second was Rayl�s Georgia Born Bella, pointer with Marjorie Ridings. Third went to Georgia Born Heartbreaker, pointer male with Sam Ridings. Brother Noah Ridings scouted for all three Riding entries.
