2015 Tallapoosa Spring Trial

The Tallapoosa Field Trial Club held its 2nd trial of the year on February 7th at the farm of Marty and Linda Robinson in Carrollton, GA. We had beautiful trialing weather and ample folks on hand, Owners, Handlers and Spectators to make for an incredibly enjoyable day.
Returning to judge this event from the prior year were two very well respected Gentlemen that we are so fortunate to have in our parts. Carl Knight from Canton, GA and Joe Norris from Arab, AL (pictured above). Both Joe and Carl have been around and involved in the sport for many years and both are very attentive and always make sure each entry gets the deserved attention. On hand to drive the tractor pulling the gallery wagon was Rich Chambers and the bird planting was ably handled by Terry Amberson of Gadsden, AL. Stan McCain, who is a tremendous help and longtime member of our club, was on hand to drive the fog wagon and to take care of treasurer activities. Bruce Mercer was on hand to help wherever needed and was available to assist with scouting duties whenever a handler needed a little help. Linda Robinson had procured and provided the food for the meals and Donna Chambers was on hand to serve the meals and make sure everyone had enough to eat. Our entries were off slightly for this running but the quality of the entrants was anything but lacking. We had several performances that would have been welcomed at any stake any time.
We had three first time visitors at our trial running dogs in Lane Hodges, Dr. Jim Crook and Mike Reeves. We hope they will return and make this the first of many. Jesse Brown came back from Tignall, GA and ran his exceptional derby and Oscar Whitt was on hand with his fine string of dogs as well. As always, we hope everyone who attended had a great time as the most important aspect of our trials is the hope that all who attend make some special memories and make some lifelong friends.
