Green Bay Pointing Dog Club Fall 2013 Trial

The October Green Bay Pointing Dog Club Trial was about renewing old friendships and making new ones. Our club will like to thank Mike Duval, Mike Roper, Steve Donovan, Deb Dlobik, Greg Blair and his ten-year old daughter Maddie, who seemed to have a very good time, also John and Alisa Jungbluth and last but not least, my very good friends from Antigo, Jim and Fran Brown who came to run their dog, CH Brown’s Brute Justice (call name Buddy) and their young female, Sonny. We moved our trial from Sept. to Oct. hoping for cooler weather; it was cooler but we got rain. It was fun anyway.

Our 16 dog Open Shooting Dog stake was very competitive, with many dogs having good bird work. Our first place dog, CH Brown’s Brute Justice, had a real nice find and real good ground race. Gunner owned and handled by Ken Ridderikhoff of Sturgeon Bay was our second place dog. He also had a very good ground race with one find. Our third place dog was Dale Creek Jack, a well know setter, owned by Steve Donovan.

The notes from the Amateur Shooting Dog (judgment ceases at flush) stake are MIA, my apologies to our six entrants. The English Setter breed swept the stake. First place went to Dale Creek Cuppa Joe owned and handled by Alisa Jungbluth. The energetic Deb Dlobik took second place with her dog, Jan’s Ultimate Cash. Our third place dog was handled by social media expert and NBHA rep Greg Blair, who I had the privilege to get to know better.

To end this report I would also like to thank Purina, Garmin, Gun Dog Supply, Christie Enterprise and again the 12 O’clock Field Trial for their support of this trial.

Hope to see everyone in spring!
