Southwest Missouri Walking FTC

NBHA Notes... We would like to thank Jim and the entire Southwest Missouri Walking FTC for stepping up to the plate and running this trial. This was their first trial and it looks to have been a huge success, with 46 dogs run - GREAT JOB Jim!

We have to start by thanking the AFTCA & NBHA for having great organizations. Purina Pro Plan for their generous support to the NBHA, Gundog Supply for the gift cards, S&H Farm Supply for the use of the Kioti which the bird planters (Skip Bond and James Ogle) put to great use, our judges Chris Kroll and Tony Chism for a great job both days rain or shine, my dad Jerry Ogle for the fish fry Saturday which was a huge hit (we actually had a few guys return Sunday looking for leftovers) my wife and daughter Kristi and Ivy Ogle for keeping dogs on the line, judges watered, lunch and all they did both days to keep things running smoothly. Thanks also goes out to the Missouri Department of Conservation for the use of the grounds and CEK Kennels for supplying the birds. Thank you all for making our first trial a huge success.

Saturday morning started cool with a cold front moving in bringing with a light rain. Rich Tremblay came from Kansas City, Missouri and placed his two pointers Willie 2nd and Sam 3rd in the Open Shooting Dog. This was the first time Rich has competed in a trial. Tom Woods placed 1st with Two a German Shorthair. Andy Neria came from Kansas with a nice string of pointers that he ran in the Open Derby. He placed two of these 1st and 3rd. Jim Ogle placed his setter 2nd. The Open Puppy had some flashy little setters with Joe Zimmer taking 1st and 2nd.

Sunday started off with a heavy fog which lifted early and brought a beautiful day. The Amateur Shooting Dog failed to place a dog with all being picked up for poor manners. Larry Carpenter finished 1st and 2nd in the Amateur Derby with two very nice setters. The Amateur Puppy was a setter sweep with Joe Zimmer taking 1st with Jim and 2nd with Ted. Larry took 3rd with his setter Sandy.

The Amateur Gundog finished our afternoon running with Monte Duncan placing his Brittany Bell 1st. Freddie Travis had a nice pointer female Katie that placed 2nd. The 3rd place winner was a male pointer named Taz which was handled by Monte Duncan.
