NBHA Futurity and Invitational Results!

Check out the Photo Galley for updated images. The NBHA Futurity was highly competitive with some very strong performances in the 30 minute first series. Six Derbies were called back with two placed on standby for the one hour finals.
Placements:
1. Legacy PM for Jim Wirths Booneville, MO
2. El Thunder PM for Danny Martin of Booneville, MO
3. Hard Rappin Shadow SM for Alan Worth of Prescott, IA
4. Milomix Sunny SF for Bill Wright of Missouri
Also called back were Milomix Ridley, SM for Bill Wright and Eaton's Choice for Brad Hargis of Illinois. The standby dogs which were not run were Carpenter's Blackhawk, SM for Larry Carpenter of MO and Milomix Zinny, a Gordon Setter female for Bill Wright.
A flashy group of 14 puppies were run in the Jerry D. Kilgore Puppy Classic. After the 30 minute braces, judges Chuck Davis of Madrid, IA and Charlie Beeler of Lancaster, MO who presided for all the stakes had the following winners:
1. Paint Me Gold, SM for Bobby and Mildred Taylor of Winfield, AL
2. Round Table Last Knight, PM for Joe Sherrer of MO
3. Shockamo, SM for the Bobby and Mildred Taylor
4. Penrosa Jane Doe, SF for Tim Penn of Edina, MO
We were blessed with decent weather for the trial which ended before another major snow hit the area. Hopefully, everyone made it home OK!
The Futurity Committee and Chairman Kevin Western did a fabulous job with this renewal. Everything went smoothly and Kevin fed the group well. Bobby Phillips breeder, owner and handler of last year's Futurity winner sponsored a great fish fry Friday evening. We missed Bobby at the trial but he should be proud of the beautiful framed painting of his winner which will be shipped to him. We hope Bobby's father makes a full recovery from his recent illness.
Sponsors of the Futurity, Puppy Classic and Open Invitational Championship included Purina Pro Plan with the donation of a major amount of Pro Plan Performance and hats and shirts; Tri Tronics provided Pro 500 e-collars to all three first place dogs; Christie's saddlery, Gun Dog Supply and the Missouri Bird Hunters Assn.
The Missouri Bird Hunters add $200 in additional monies to the purse for the winner of the NBHA National Open Invitational IF the dog that wins is from a Futurity nominated litter. This year, CH Greypointe Gladiador was indeed a Futurity nominated dog and in fact placed third in the Futurity as a Derby years ago. This added money was donated back to the Futurity group to go to support and further expand the NBHA Breeders event.
A full report will be in the Field ASAP.
