2015 Tulsa Bird Dog Association

Its been a long time since the Tulsa Bird Dog Association (formerly Tulsa Bird Dog Club) was featured here in the American Field. The club held its first trial in October 1987 and Allen Vincent wrote the first report. Thats some pretty big shoes to fill, but here we are nearly 30 years later and the TBDA has come full circle. After nearly 20 years being absent from the American Field world, the club held its fall trial at the McFarlin-Ingersoll Ranch in Inola, Okla. under the auspices of the Oil Capital Field Trial Association and with the guidance of TBDA member and professional trainer Tom Woods of Adair, Oklahoma.

2015 SW MISSOURI WALKING FTC

This year we had decided to run Amateur both days. It turned out to be a good decision drawing 50 between the two days. We had two rough days with very dry conditions and Temps in the 80s. We had a few new comers we welcomed in happily. They were all successful with placements for their 4 legged companions.

2015 Rolling Hills FTC

The Rolling Hills Field Trial Club held its fall NBHA trial on Saturday September 19th on the Dude Hoehns farm south of Knoxville, Iowa. Its been a hot, very wet summer throughout much of the Midwest and southern Iowa is certainly no exception. The grounds received 3 inches of rain in the twenty four hours before the trial making the river bottom portion of the course soggy, but not unbearably so. The morning running started with temperatures in the upper 50s, peaking in the mid 70s later in the day. Mild westerly breezes made for a beautiful late summer day to run dogs.

Sand Mountain Will has Passed

It is with a very sad heart that I am reporting the bad news that SAND MOUNTAIN WILL passed away May 2015. Will was bred by Bruce Mercer of Premier Field Trial Kennels, sired By CH Elhew G. Force and his dam was Premier's Parolee. Will was whelped January 12, 2013.
