Blount County Alabama
The Blount County NBHA trial was conducted on January 25, 2014 in Murphy Valley, AL (on Ken Tolbert’s Training Grounds). Tony Bailey was a first time Field Trial Chairman, with the help of his future wife -Teresa Green, and future Father in Law - Ken Tolbert. Tony's two teenage sons (Riley and Ryan) were the bird planters and go getters...they are two fine boys and we hope to see them running dogs in the near future. Teresa has been raising, training and field trialing birddogs for years and is also a great cook who knows how to keep a trial going. Teresa was aided by her Mother - Pat Tolbert, and they provided a great meal and especially the coconut cake.

Midwest Regional POSTPONED
Due to weather and concerns of the landowner the Midwest Regional CH has been POSTPONED until a later date. There is simply too much snow on the ground to be safe and with possible melting conditions coming this weekend the risk of damaging the grounds is too high. More information will be posted on a make up date as soon as it it available.

North Missouri Field Trial Association
Ideal weather conditions made for a great weekend of field trialing and watching some nice dog work. Only one week earlier and we would have not seen the high temperature not to rise above the single digits. Fortunately this weekend we had moderate temperatures in the mid-forties and beautiful sunny skies each afternoon. North Missouri Field Trial Association is very thankful for the support shown on this weekend from our participants who were from Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois.

Starfire Supersport came back to defend his title at the Invitational and was declared champion yet again. Runner up went to the young male setter from Michigan, Pepper Jack Wood. The championship was hosted at the Central Kentucky Wildlife Management Area in Berea, KY on December 14, 2013. This was our first year hosting this event in Kentucky. We certainly are grateful for all of the help and support that we received from the local clubs.

2014 Tallapoosa Field Trial Club
The Tallapoosa Field Trial Club held its second field trial of the season on Jan. 4, 2014 at the home of Marty and Linda Robinson in Carrollton, GA. We had cool temperatures for this running with the low in the morning around 24 and the high in the mid 40’s. Given the weather, we had a moderate turnout and wish to thank all the participants and spectators who came out in support of the trial. We would like to greatly thank our NBHA national sponsors; Purina Pro-Plan, Garmin, Gun Dog Supply and Christie Enterprises for their continued support of the NBHA organization. We had two very experienced Gentlemen judging this trial in Bruce Mercer of Jonesboro, GA and Tom Conn of Dallas, GA. Both Bruce and Tom have been very generous through the years with their time in helping us keep out trials run fairly and with the utmost integrity. Both judges were very attentive to each dog in competition and the winners were justly awarded. Many thanks to the folks who “make it happen”. Danny Robinson kept the courses seeded with quail and was also responsible for the firewood that was used to knock of the chill when there was time to gather around the fire barrel. Stanley McCain was on hand to take care of Treasury duties and kept the dog wagon running all day. Stanley was a welcome sight on several occasions when some of the nice derbies went deep at pick up and took handlers quite a ways from headquarters. Randy Robinson came over from Stockbridge, GA and he drove the tractor pulling the gallery wagon. On hand to serve up lunch were Whitney (Robinson) Berry, Melissa McCain and Jackie Robinson. Melissa prepared a big pot of Chili which was an incredible hit on such a “wintry” day.
