NBHA

2014 Southeast Regional Championship

South Carolina NBHA held its South East Regional Championship at the H. Cooper Black Field Trial Grounds in Patrick, SC. These grounds only get better each year. The PRT employees really take a lot of pride in making sure the grounds are groomed and look their best. The weather was cool and windy the first day and cold on the second day. These conditions made it hard for the dogs to find birds both days. The judges announced were not able to judge so we had to find judges on Tuesday and the trial started on Friday. Quintin Wiseman and Doug Miller were the judges. Mr. Wiseman is from Georgia and Mr. Miller is from South Carolina. These gentlemen did an outstanding job and their decisions were accepted very well.

The dog named champion, Sand Mountain Spirit handled by Oscar Whitt, was one of the dogs that had more than one find. Spirit had five finds and a good forward race. Runner-up champion was Moehill Carolina Ruby handled by Jerry Raynor. Ruby is not a stranger in the winning circle of this championship. She has been champion the previous two years. Ruby had two finds and a really good forward race.

We would like to thank all the owners and handlers as well as the sponsors, Purina, Garmin and Gun Dog Supply. We certainly were served some great meals in our club house by the Brown Brothers.
